Systema martial arts fake. Internal martial arts do not avoid the use of muscles. Way of martial arts is run by a small group of martial arts enthusiasts. I had a young woman who claimed to have been doing systema for 18 months yet she was destroyed in a match with another woman who's total martial arts training consisted of the 2 days they both had with me.

I am a systema student {mainly kadochnikov style stuff but a little of ryabko and a few others thrown in} of about 5 years (so hardly an expert, but i am not bad) i have also done mixed martial arts{mainly kick boxing and bjj based stuff}, taekwondo, and a bit of muay thai.
Vasiliev's skill, that i've done an eight hours flight to come to toronto from paris and believe me it was worth it! Before hand, let me state that this is not about ryabko/vasiliev systema vs. Most of us had a degree of scheptisism about aspects of the art until we had our arses handed to us.
This means systema classes will cover kicking, striking, blocking, grappling, submission and disarming. Called systema, the russian word for the system, for its complete and wholesome approach to a human being, this style of self defense and health training enhances every part of the body and spirit. What you see in many youtube videos can be misleading, much of it is a standard systema method of slow practice, and not “live training” where the attacker is trying to win.
It’s interesting to note that systema is a popular martial art for law. People can convince themselves of just about anything, if they are invested in it on some level. I wanted some arts that were less well known and not necessarily from eastern asia!

Never have i been exposed to a more complete system of defense than that of russian martial art. Comments read ‘this guy is a superhero!” and “this dude trains boxing champs and. When i answer this question, i'll be restricting myself to the military training versions of these arts. They use muscle power, but they use it in a different way than external martial arts use it. Using your martial arts skills may lead to arrest or a lawsuit if you overstep your boundaries.
